Material Details

Include material type, era, and city. Specific titles rank higher in search and filter results.

Used for category filtering. Pick the primary material — mixed lots should be listed separately.

Be precise — contractors pre-screen on dimension. Include section size for steel, nominal dimensions for lumber.

List only what you can actually deliver. Quantity disputes are the second most common rep-score deduction.

Provenance adds value. Buyers pay a premium for materials with documented history — especially for embodied carbon documentation under NYC LL97 and CA SB 905.

Condition Self-Assessment

Select the grade that honestly describes the material's condition. Read the full grading criteria before selecting. When in doubt, grade down — buyers reward honesty with higher rep scores.

Grade A listings with inspector certification qualify for optional 50-year load warranty and are preferred by insurance-document-required buyers. Inspector cert requests are matched within 3 business days.

$

Price per unit (set the unit below). Tradeyard's fee is on total transaction value, not per-unit.

Used for geographic filtering. Buyers frequently filter by state to manage pickup logistics. Be accurate — location disputes affect your rep score.

Photos

Photos are the single biggest factor in buyer inquiry rate. Show all faces, all visible defects, and at least one scale reference. Listings with 4+ photos get 3× more inquiries. Include a photo of any inspection documentation if available.

Contact Info

Displayed publicly on the listing. Company names build rep faster than personal names.

Used for buyer inquiries and transaction confirmations. Not displayed publicly.

Optional. If provided, buyers can call directly. Reduces back-and-forth for large lots.

Fee schedule: 5% on transactions under $5,000 · 10% on transactions $5,000 and above. Listing is free. You are invoiced only when a buyer confirms pickup or delivery. No charge until both parties confirm the transaction.
